Raj K. Singla, M.D.
Raj K. Singla, M.D., M.P.H. has been practicing ophthalmology in Southeast Texas for over the past twenty years. He received his doctorate of Medicine in 1968. From there, he went on to become a Master of Surgery in Ophthalmology at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, one of the highest ranked universities in South Asia. He went on to become the chief surgeon at a major Indian hospital and performed approximately 1500 major surgeries in a one-year period.

Upon arrival to the United States, Dr. Singla continued his foray into the field of Ophthalmology. He earned a Masters in the Epidemiology of Eye Diseases from the University of Washington and went on to work as an instructor at the prestigious Tifts Medical Center. He also pursued a fellowship in retino-vitreous diseases at the University of Connecticut and was involved in the diagnoses and treatment of retino vitreal problems.

Dr. Singla has avidly continued his education into all aspects of ophthalmology while maintaining and treating a large patient base in his private practice. He is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and a fellow of the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Singla has become well-versed in the uses of the excimer laser. He has successfully completed his VISX and Nidek certification.

Dr, Singla keeps a pulse on all the new advancements in eye medicine. He acquires new instruments frequently to take advantage of the new advancements in technology. This offers the doctor better insight of the patients condition and provides the patient with better care through earlier detection.

Many of Dr. Singla’s patients have been under his care since he first opened his practice. He has treated them, their family members and friends. It is truly a love for medicine and making a difference in the quality of his patient’s lives that has fueled his pursuit for excellence.

“There are very few times in an individual’s lifetime when he or she is able to make a difference. I feel extremely fortunate to be an individual who pursues that goal every day.”

Raj K. Singla, M.D., P.A.
