Krishna Surapaneni, MD (affectionately called Dr. “Sura” by his patients) is a highly-skilled, fellowship-trained glaucoma, cornea, cataract, and refractive surgeon. He is a Houston native and completed his ophthalmology residency training at Wake Forest University where he served as Chief Resident. He subsequently completed anterior segment fellowship training at Vold Vision, one of the country’s busiest and most innovative programs. He is widely published in the field and has been involved in the development of multiple surgical devices. He is currently a board member of a non-profit whose focus is to improve patient education of eye diseases. He also has a strong passion for international health and previously established an HIV clinic in rural Kenya and more recently went on a medical mission trip in Honduras where he conducted cataract surgery and corneal transplants. He is committed to improving his patients’ quality of life by restoring vision and looks forward to serving the Port Arthur community.
